Decided not to move to Tokyo just yet, in spite of claims by some that its the only way to really make it big here. I performed there a couple of weeks ago with rather good results but still remain unconvinced. I'll go there for the occasional job or meeting but I still need to be close to my children, plus, there are still a lot of opportunities to be explored here, maybe things overlooked, maybe things hidden.
I'm still going to work on building a sales and distribution network over here that will bring some exceptional audio products to the Japanese market. A few people have asked me, why bother, and what's in it for me. And besides the chance to maybe add a couple pieces of gear to my recording arsenal I really don't know or care. Maybe its something like in "Field of Dreams," ..."If you build it they will come."
Anyway, I'm already learning a lot, and meeting interesting challenging people just by making the attempt, and its a good idea to have something to do besides performing. Its just something for the future.
